I am lucky to have been full-time in my creative zone for years now. I work with driftwood, creating the figures, faces, creatures and abstract designs that I see coming out of the pieces of wood I collect on our local beaches.
Chisels, rasps, saws, knives, sandpaper, along with a few basic electric tools, are my aids to shape the emerging figures.
I use acrylic paints, stains, leaf, glues and varnishes for colouring and covering. Clay, metal, glass, wood and found- objects enhance shape, identification and colour. My work has been described as fun, whimsical, primitive, and imaginative.
I have a studio space at The Beaumont Studios where I work along with artists and their creative abilities. This is very stimulating.
Welcome...to my world of fantastical creatures and figures of bold and imaginative design.
"God is really only another artist. He invented the giraffe, the elephant and the cat. He has no real style. He just goes on trying other things." ~Pablo Picasso
